MANIFESTO OF BOLIDISM
From: MAURIZIO CASTELVETRO <castel@novacomp.it>
Date: 28 Mar 1997 22:59:46 GMT
Founded in Bologna (Italy) in 1986 by a group of 15 young italian
architects, Bolidism suddenly became successful and popular as a new
artistic movement in the design sector, immediatly capturing the
communication world: its formal sign was the dynamic and curved line.
By synthesis, the figure of a new professional man is outlined with the
characteristic of material and thinking mobility, using intuition as
working instrument and the planet as his action-field.
The bolidists: Maurizio Castelvetro, Giovanni Tommaso Garattoni, Guido
Venturini, Stefano Giovannoni, Anna Perico, Fabrizio Galli, Roberto 'Rocky'
Semprini, Pierangelo Caramia, Daniele Cariani, Dante Donegani, Ernesto
Spicciolato, Bepi Maggiori, Giusi Mastro, Massimo Iosa Ghini, Maurizio
Corrado.

MANIFESTO OF BOLIDISM (1987)
The Bolidist
has just one purpose in his life:
l i v i n g .
The Bolidist
simultaneously theorizes and acts.
The Bolidist
does not consider history as "Magistra Vitae", but an exciting adventure.
The Bolidist
has a positive attitude.
The Bolidist
believes that ideology is an useless and harmful brake.
The Bolidist
has aged or dead teachers and intense and fleeting idols.
The Bolidist
is in the van of himself.
The Bolidist
does not die for any cause.
The Bolidist
hates stillness, nonsense,
cowarige and meaningful frigidity.
The Bolidist
consider contradiction as the only possibility of adapting
to quickly changing situations.
The Bolidist
considers bolidism a good pretext.
The Bolidist
consider the future equivalent to the past in that is 'not present',
but future is more interesting than past.
The Bolidist
has a simultaneous ability of psycological-emotional
adaptation to all the changes.
The Bolidist
is a self-enving man.
The Bolidist
is a Bolidist but he does not care to be.
