This document will assist you in setting up Outlook 2003 for collecting your email using our POP3 secure connection (SSL).

Note before you start: If you are using Norton or any other Antivirus software, please disable ALL email scanning (both incoming outgoing email). You will not be able to use your 42, Inc. email before you do this.

1) Open Outlook 2003 Account Properties:

Open Outlook 2003
- Choose Tools>Options.
- Then choose Mail Setup and click on E-mail Accounts:


 

Choose "Add" for a new account or "View or change" to make changes:

Choose POP3 or IMAP (click here to see the difference and decide which is best for you):

3a) Fill in your Your Name as you want it to appear on emails; your full email address; mail.42inc.com for both incoming and outgoing mail server; your User Name is also your full email address; and your Password.

3b) Click on "More Settings:"

4) Choose the "Outgoing Server" tab and choose the "My outgoing server requires authentication" box and the "Use same settings as my incoming mail server " option and then click on the "Advanced" Tab:



4a) Check "This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)" boxes for both incoming and outgoing server.

4b) Change the outgoing port number from 25 to 4242 as shown:


Congratulations! You have now completed the initial setup  of Outlook 2003 to send and receive mail from the mail.42inc.com server. If desired, you may now personalize Eudora settings for your use. Be careful not to change any settings specified in this document.
