This document will walk you through the initial configuration of the Netscape 7 email client. Unless otherwise indicated, you may leave default settings unchanged.

Note before you start: If you are using Norton or any other Antivirus software, please disable ALL email scanning (both incoming outgoing email). You will not be able to use your 42, Inc. email before you do this.

Open Netscape 7 and go to File > New > Account to launch the email software Wizard.

Click on Next

Enter your name and your full email address:

Choose POP (you can also use the moew powerful IMAP, click here to see the difference
and decide which is best for you).

Fill in mail.42inc.com for the incoming server.







Click "Finish" - but we are not quite done yet.

Go to Edit > Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings

Choose Outgoing Server (SMTP):

- Change the Port # to 25

- Check the TLS button

Click OK

The first time you check your email, this box will pop-up:

Put in your password and click the "Use Password Manager to Remember this Password" box (if desired)

Congratulations!
You have now completed the initial setup of Netscape to send and receive mail from the mail.42inc.com server. If desired, you may now personalize your settings for your use. Be careful not to change any settings specified in this document.
